(Radiation Research) Risk of low-dose radiation and the BEIR VII report: A critical review of what it does and doesn’t say

During the 'outlier events' meeting Prof. Papin of San Diego State University mentioned that there was some rethinking under way in the scientific community around the right dosage limits for radiation. We asked him for some additional papers on this matter, and he said this paper and another would be the right starting points for members of the public looking for additional information on the subject.

This report is based on a classified report that was developed at the request of the U.S. Congress with sponsorship from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Department of Homeland Security. This report contains all of the findings and recommendations that appear in the classified report. Some have been slightly reworded and other sensitive information that might allow terrorists to exploit potential vulnerabilities has been redacted to protect national security.
